When I paintied this, I wanted it to seem as if the figures were emerging from the grafitti background, emerging from the chaos of life. I am reminded of a saying, "The misconceptions are backed by a world of ignorance. Samsara arises out of wrong knowledge about reality and is characterized by failure, suffering and anxiety. The Buddhist tradition considers ignorance to be the root cause of samsara. Ignorance is a misconception about reality, leading to grasping and clinging, and repeated rebirth.
